An island in the woods...
Well-concealed between extensive deciduous and coniferous forests, the hotel Jagdhaus Wiese is located on a high plateau on the ridge of the Rothaar Mountains, the watershed between the Rhine and the Weser. All around are the most impressive mountains of the High Sauerland: the Kahle Asten (843 m) to the east, the Hunau (818 m) to the north and the Härdler (756 m) to the west.
The Jagdhaus itself lies at a height of 650 m. In the cold season guests at this little place are often enchanted by the winter fairytale scenery.
The neighbouring towns of Schmallenberg and Bad Berleburg provide exclusive little shopping streets, where both the unusual offerings and individual service encourage you to wander and shop.
There are a few cultural offerings with musical events such as the “Wormbach summer concerts” and the “Festival week of music at Berleburg castle”, which is famous well beyond the borders of the Sauerland, as well as interesting museums and historical churches.
The list goes on, but why not simply discover the Sauerland for yourself?
